Great Wildebeest Migration Safari Itinerary.

After calving in the southern part of Tanzania’s Serengeti near the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, the animals journey through the Serengeti up and around in a clockwise direction towards the Masai Mara in Kenya.  Before returning once again near the end of the year.

Explore wildlife and the great wildebeest migration in the famous Serengeti National Park while sleeping in the wild too. 8 Days southern Serengeti Great Wildebeest Migration Safari. Tanzania. Great Migration events including the Mara river crossing adventure in northern Serengeti National Park.

Day 1: Arusha National Park

The day begins with pre-breakfast with picnic lunch around the Lodge grounds, sighting fire finches, variable sunbirds, Bulbuls, and Olive Thrush. Breakfast and head for Arusha National Park with our packed Lunches, visit the various crater lakes catching up with the Macao ducks, Egyptian Geese, Hottentot teal, Comb duck, and many unusual waders, varieties of animal including a blue monkey and black and white colobus. If you are lucky, you might also spot a shy red duiker. More common is the even smaller Kirk’s dik-dik. Giraffes are very common in the area around the Momella lakes. late in the evening drive you to Mto wa Mbu Dinner and overnight at the campsite or lodge.

Day 2: Tarangire National Park, 130 kilometers drive two hours

After breakfast at the camp, you leave early to the Tarangire National park. This is the third largest park in Tanzania and it is characterized by the amazingly large herds of elephants that can be encountered in this park. The Baobab trees are one of the other highlights of Tarangire and the Tarangire River that flows all year round is the lifeblood of the park. Many animals; predators and the preys alike gather around the river where you can do excellent game viewing after game evening late afternoon you will back to your Campsite. Overnight is at the campsite at Tarangire (Panorama/another campsite).

Day 3 Tarangire Serengeti National Park

The breakfast will be at 0600am. Pick up from the Camp at 0700am and drive to the Great Serengeti National with your Picnic Lunch Packed and game drives en route via Ngorongoro Crater rim. The Serengeti National Park the home to lion, leopard, Elephant, Cheetah, Buffalo, Zebra, Wildebeest, Eland, Wild dog, Gazelles, Crocodiles and more. Serengeti is one of the most comprehensive and appealing internet presentations on nature, conservation, and research in general. Day 4 Central Serengeti to North game

After breakfast, continues with both morning and afternoon game drives in Serengeti National Park. The Serengeti National Park is famous for the ‘Great Migration’, Tanzania Migration Safari over one million wildebeest, and two hundred thousand plus zebras each year follow the rains. In October and November, they travel from the mountains of the north, southwards to the plains seeking lush pastures. After the great rainy season in April, May, and June the herds then make their return ward journey. Even without this mass migration, the Serengeti is still an exciting and spectacular place that still cannot fail to enthrall Dinner and overnight at Lobo Campsite.

Day 5 Northern Serengeti game drive

After breakfast we will drive you full game drive following the animal Tanzania Migration Safari at the Northern Serengeti where the migration will be, you can see wildebeest, zebra, a topi hartebeest, eland, antelope, hyena, varieties of birds singing on the trees also viewing the beauty of landscape &nature. Usually, In the month of August and November, the migration reaches its northern range: the grasslands on either bank of the crocodile-infested Mara River which the herds must cross not once, but twice, as they complete their migration. Also, we will be able to enjoy the sunset at Serengeti between 18:20 pm -18:40 pm after game drive late in the evening back to back to Overnight at Lobo Campsite.

Day 6 Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast we will continue with an en-route game view in Serengeti for three hours after that we will proceed with the game on route arrive at nabi gate for lunch and after that proceed to Ngorongoro conservation area for dinner and overnight at Simba campsite.

Day 7: Ngorongoro Crater to Lake Manyara

On this day, you will start early at 07:00 for a game drive (with a picnic lunch) in the Ngorongoro Crater. As animals migrate in and out of the crater with its 2000 feet high walls, you can expect to see lions, elephants, zebras, hippos, flamingos, jackals, rhinos, antelopes, many birds, and other species.

Your driver/guide will be in contact with other safari drivers and will amaze you with his skill at locating the hidden animals. After all the great explorations in Ngorongoro Crater, you will go to Fanaka Campsite to have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 8: Lake Manyara Arusha

After breakfast, the journey continues a wonderful experience you will visit Lake Manyara, National Park. The protected area encloses a large part of the alkaline lake of the same name. This amazing lake is the seasonal home of a giant flamingo colony and many more waterfowls. On the lakeshore, you can also observe elephants, hippopotami, buffalos, guenons, banded mongooses, and numerous types of gazelles and antelopes.  After watching the animals and exploring the national park. After wildlife game drive later drive back to Arusha for overnight or flight back home.
