8-Day Authentic Tanzania Safari Tours Itinerary

Embark on an immersive 8-day journey through the heart of Tanzania’s wilderness on our Authentic Safari Tours. From thrilling game drives to serene bush walks, every moment promises adventure and discovery. Day 1: Arrival in Arusha

Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be met by a representative from your chosen safari company who will transfer you to your accommodation in Arusha.

After checking in and freshening up, you can rest and relax at the lodge or explore the town of Arusha if you arrive early in the day.  In the evening, you’ll have a briefing with your safari guide to go over the itinerary and answer any questions you may have. Overnight stay at a lodge in Arusha.

Day 2: Tarangire National Park

After an early breakfast, depart from Arusha and head to Tarangire National Park, which is approximately a 2-hour drive. Tarangire is known for its large concentration of elephants, especially during the dry season when herds gather around the Tarangire River.

Enjoy a full-day game drive in the park, with a packed lunch provided by your lodge or guide. Spot wildlife such as lions, leopards, cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, and various antelope species. Return to your lodge or tented camp for dinner and overnight stay near Tarangire.

Day 3: Lake Manyara National Park

After breakfast, depart for Lake Manyara National Park, which is about a 2-hour drive from Tarangire. Lake Manyara is renowned for its diverse birdlife, including flamingos, pelicans, storks, and more.

Enjoy a morning game drive in the park, where you might also spot tree-climbing lions. After the game drive, head to your accommodation for lunch and some relaxation.

In the afternoon, you have the option of visiting a nearby Maasai village to experience their culture and way of life (additional cost). Dinner and overnight stay at a lodge or tented camp near Lake Manyara.

Day 4: Ngorongoro Conservation Area

After an early breakfast, depart for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, approximately a 3-hour drive. Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, a natural amphitheater and one of Africa’s most iconic wildlife destinations.

Enjoy a half- day game drive inside the crater, which is home to the Big Five (lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino, and leopard) and an abundance of other animals. Ngorongoro Conservation Area are home to a variety of wildlife species, including Elephants, Black rhino, Giraffe, Leopard, Cheetah, Buffalo, Hippopotamus, Impalas, Thomson, among others. The avian species include Ostriches, Flamingos, Kori bustards, and Ground horn bill, Sun birds, Cattle egret, Ducks, just to name a few. Reptilians include different species of snakes, chameleons, a rare number of crocodiles, and lizards.

Enjoy a picnic lunch at a designated spot within the crater. In the late afternoon, ascend to the crater rim for dinner and overnight stay at a lodge or tented camp.

Day 5: Serengeti National Park (Seronera Valley)

After breakfast, drive to the Serengeti National Park via the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The journey can take about 4-6 hours, but the scenic views along the way are worth it. Enter the Serengeti through the Naabi Hill Gate and enjoy a game drive en route to your accommodation in the Seronera region, located in the heart of the park.

The Seronera Valley is famous for its abundant wildlife and is an excellent spot for spotting predators like lions and leopards. Dinner and overnight stay at a lodge or tented camp in the Seronera area.

Day 6: Serengeti National Park (Central Serengeti)

Embark on a full-day game drive in the Serengeti, exploring different areas of the park. The Serengeti’s diverse landscapes, from open savannahs to acacia woodlands, support a wide variety of wildlife.

Depending on the time of year, you may have the chance to witness the great wildebeest migration, one of the most incredible wildlife spectacles on the planet.

Return to your lodge or tented camp in the Seronera region for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 7: Serengeti National Park to Arusha

Enjoy a morning game drive in the Serengeti, making the most of your last moments in this stunning national park. After breakfast, begin your journey back to Arusha with a game drive en route.

If you’re interested, you can visit the Olduvai Gorge archaeological site, known as the “Cradle of Mankind,” where significant discoveries of early human fossils were made (additional cost).

Arrive in Arusha in the late afternoon or early evening and check into your lodge for a well-deserved rest. You may have time for some last-minute shopping or relaxation at the lodge. Dinner and overnight stay at a lodge in Arusha.

Day 8: Pick up in the hotel Arusha Departure

Depending on your flight schedule, you may have some free time in Arusha in the morning. Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at the lodge and perhaps purchase some souvenirs or gifts from local markets.
Drop you off to  Kilimanjaro International Airport for your departure flight.
