Day 0: Arrival in Tanzania + Pre-trek Briefing Your Kilimanjaro adventure begins upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, the gateway to Tanzania safari and mountain expeditions. After a warm welcome, you’ll transfer to your hotel in Moshi or Arusha, where you can relax and prepare for your trek. In the evening, meet your professional mountain guides for a detailed Kilimanjaro pre-climb briefing. This includes route overview, safety protocols, packing list, altitude sickness awareness, and gear check. Missing equipment can be rented locally. This day is crucial for acclimatization and mental preparation, ensuring a smooth start to your Machame Route climb. Enjoy a comfortable overnight stay at your lodge or hotel, surrounded by views of Mount Kilimanjaro, as excitement builds for your upcoming high-altitude trekking adventure. Day 1: Hotel – Machame Gate – Machame Camp After breakfast, depart from Moshi or Arusha to the Machame Gate, located within Kilimanjaro National Park. Upon registration, your Kilimanjaro climb officially begins. Trek through dense rainforest, rich with wildlife, birds, and unique flora, making this one of the most scenic days of the Machame Route. The trail can be muddy and humid, so proper hiking boots are essential. As you ascend, the forest gradually opens, revealing stunning mountain views. After 5–7 hours of trekking, arrive at Machame Camp, where porters set up tents and prepare a hot meal. Enjoy dinner and overnight camping under the stars. This first day sets the tone for your Kilimanjaro trekking experience, blending adventure, nature, and excitement in Tanzania’s iconic mountain landscape. Elevation: 1830m/6000ft to 3050m/9950ft Distance: 11km/7mi Hiking Time: 5-6 hours Habitat: Montane Forest Meals: Lunch and Dinner Day 2: Machame Camp to Shira Camp Leaving the rainforest behind, today’s trek transitions into moorland terrain with expansive views of Mount Kilimanjaro’s rugged beauty. The trail becomes steeper, offering rewarding panoramas of valleys and peaks. As you hike toward Shira Camp, you’ll notice vegetation changing to giant heathers and volcanic rock formations, a signature feature of the Machame Route. This stage is essential for acclimatization, allowing your body to adjust gradually to increasing altitude. The journey takes about 4–6 hours, with plenty of opportunities for photography and rest. Upon arrival at Shira Camp, located on the Shira Plateau, you’ll enjoy incredible sunset views and cooler temperatures. Dinner and overnight camping provide a peaceful setting to recharge. This day highlights why Kilimanjaro climbing tours are among the best adventure travel experiences in Africa. Elevation: 3050m/9950ft to 3850m/12,600ft Distance: 5km/3mi Walking Time: 4-5 hours Habitat: Moorland Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner Day 3: Shira Camp – Lava Tower – Barranco Camp Today is a key acclimatization day on your Kilimanjaro trek. You’ll hike from Shira Camp toward the famous Lava Tower at 4,600 meters, experiencing a higher altitude before descending to Barranco Camp. This “climb high, sleep low” strategy significantly improves summit success rates on the Machame Route. The landscape becomes dramatic and alpine, with sparse vegetation and striking volcanic scenery. After reaching Lava Tower, enjoy lunch and take in breathtaking views before descending into the Barranco Valley. Arrive at Barranco Camp, nestled beneath the iconic Barranco Wall, often considered the most beautiful campsite on Mount Kilimanjaro. Dinner and overnight at camp. This day may feel challenging due to altitude, but it plays a vital role in preparing you for summit night and ensuring a safe, successful Kilimanjaro climbing experience. Once at the top, continue trekking through ridges and valleys toward Barafu Camp, the final base camp before summit attempt. The terrain is rocky and alpine, with minimal vegetation, highlighting the harsh beauty of Mount Kilimanjaro. This stage takes about 6–8 hours and requires steady pacing to conserve energy for summit night. Upon arrival at Barafu Camp, rest, hydrate, and enjoy an early dinner. You can spend the rest of the day relaxing and preparing for the exciting journey ahead. Day 2: Arusha to Lake Manyara/Tarangire National Park On the second day, you’ll drive to Lake Manyara/Tarangire National Park, known for its diverse wildlife and stunning landscapes. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to spot a variety of animals, including elephants, giraffes, zebras, hippos, and the famous tree-climbing lions. Day 3: Lake Manyara/Tarangire to Serengeti National Park After breakfast, you will start your journey ahead towards the Serengeti National Park, via the beautiful high lying farmland of Karatu and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Leaving the highlands behind, we descend into the heart of wild Africa – the Serengeti National Park – with its endless plains, rolling into the distance as far as the eye can see.  Head to the Central Park area, known as the Seronera area, one of the richest wildlife habitats in the Park, featuring the Seronera River, which provides a valuable water source to this area and therefore attracts wildlife well representative of most of the Serengeti’s species. Arrive in time for lunch at Nabi gate and enjoy the late 2hrs afternoon game drive in the Serengeti National Park. Dinner and overnight stay in the accommodation choose. Day 4: Central Serengeti National Park After breakfast, enjoy a full day in different parts of the Serengeti!  Breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be provided. The central Serengeti offers superb game viewing all year due to its abundance of resident animals. The Seronera River Valley in particular is a “must see” on every safari regardless of the specific month of travel. That said, game viewing in this area of the park is at its best during the dry season (June-November) as resident animals are more concentrated in the immediate area due to the lack of water on the plains. Resident herbivores include impala, buffalo, hippo, warthog, topi, hartebeest, and giraffe. Resident carnivores include lion and leopard. Dinner and overnight stay in the accommodation choose. Day 5:  Serengeti National Park – Ngorongoro Crater On this day, we suggest a very early wake-up call in order to do an early morning game drive (when the animals are more active) and see one of the best sunrises you’ll ever witness. After the game drive, we’ll return to the camp for a rewarding brunch and then proceed to en route game to Ngorongoro, the 8th Wonder of the Natural World.  The crater spreads for 102 sq miles and has 2,000 ft high walls, making it virtually Noah’s ark. It inhabits almost every species of wildlife that is indigenous to East Africa. It’s one of the very rare locations in the whole continent where you can witness the black rhino.  The crater has a river, several swamps, a soda lake with a great concentration of flamingos, a forest and open plains. It’s also famous for its elephants which, are the largest in the world and have huge tusks. Ngorongoro Crater is truly a Wonder of the Natural World. Dinner and overnight at rim of crater.  Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater to Lake Eyasi Today, you will have early breakfast and proceed directly to the crater floor for a 5-6hrs crater Tanzania safaris tour with a picnic lunch down the crater whereby you will be able to see all the “Big Five” if your lucky enough. dinner and overnight Meals: B,L,D Accommodation: Lake Eyasi Safari Lodge Day 7:  Lake Eyasi tour trip (Hadzabe, Datoga) – Arusha We depart for Lake Eyasi to visit the bush men and observe their activities such as hunting and wild fruits gathering.
