If you plan to climb Ol Doinyo Lengai overnight, add a third night so you can rest afterwards. One night works only if you are passing through on the way to the northern Serengeti.

Lake Natron is hot, often very warm by midday, but staying overnight is comfortable when you plan around the heat. A scenic route runs from Natron through Loliondo to the northern or central Serengeti, which suits travellers wanting a less-travelled road. This works best in the dry season. Alternatively, many guests visit Natron from Arusha first and then return toward Ngorongoro. We will plan the most practical order for your dates. The rough road is long, so an early departure is wise.
