Day 1: Tanzania Arrival | Safari in Tanzania

Pick up you at Kilimanjaro airport/Arusha airport transfer you to Arusha. We booked a hotel for you overnight ready to start your tour the following day. You will meet with our safari manager to give you briefly about safari. After that you will continue leisure in your hotel. Overnight at Venice Hotel Arusha.

Day 2: Arusha to Tarangire National Park

After breakfast at the hotel, you leave early to the Tarangire National Park for your family safari. This is the third largest park in Tanzania and it is characterized by the amazingly large herds of elephants that can be encountered in this park.

The Baobab trees are one of the other highlights of Tarangire and the Tarangire River that flows all year round is the lifeblood of the park. Many animals; predators and prey alike gather around the river where you can do excellent game viewing. Dinner and overnight are at Fanaka Campsite and Budget lodge

Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater back to Arusha

Today, you will have early breakfast and proceed directly to the crater floor for a five-to-six-hour crater tour with a picnic lunch down the crater whereby you will be able to see one of the “Big Five” members during your family if you’re lucky enough. Later, you will proceed back to Arusha in the evening overnight at Hotel Venice Arusha.

Day 4: Transfer you to Airport (End of Safaris in Tanzania)

After breakfast in the hotel, we will transfer you to the airport to take a flight back home or to the next safari destination, you’re planning yourself. This will be the end of your tour and safari with us.

On the first day of your adventure, you will arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport in Arusha, Tanzania. Day 2: Tarangire Safari Lodge, Tarangire National Park
 

After breakfast at the Hotel, your Tanzania safaris adventure begins, leaving early to the Tarangire National park around 8:30 am. This is the third largest park in Tanzania and it is characterized by the amazingly large herds of elephants that can be encountered in this park.

Day 3:  Tarangire Safari Lodge, Tarangire National Park
Departure from the lodge early mornings on safari are a must, as this time offers the best wildlife viewing opportunities. Wake-up is usually before sunrise! Enjoy a hot beverage and a light breakfast before heading out on your first game drive of the day.

Morning game drives can be long, and can be cool and crisp. 

Blankets are often provided for in the lodge or tented camps.  But be prepared with warm clothing that can be removed as the sun rises and the day warms. Explore iconic hidden game drive in Tarangire.   Dinner & Overnight is at Tarangire Safari Lodge.

Day 4:  Tarangire Safari Lodge, Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, depart your lodge with a packed lunch and drive to Tarangire National Park. Enjoy your day with game drives in the park and lunch at a picnic site.

Day 5:  Tarangire Safari Lodge  to Lake Manyara

After your breakfast, and then we drive to Lake Manyara National Park for your impressive travel trips. This impressive National Park is one of Tanzania’s most dramatically located wildlife areas. Consisting of a massive but shallow soda lake (covering two-thirds of the park) at the foot of the Great Rift Valley Western escarpment. 

The Park varied habitat attracts a wide variety of animals, including one of Africa’s largest concentrations of Elephants; Manyara is famous for a Tree-climbing lion, as well as. Dinner and overnight at   Karatu Kitela Lodge

Day 6:  Lake Manyara National Park

After breakfast in the lodge depart with picknic lunch box from the lodge for another scenic game drive in the lake.  Dinner and overnight at   Karatu Kitela Lodge.

Day 7: Karatu Kitela Lodge to Ngorongoro Crater

After a relaxing morning and an early breakfast at the lodge, you will have an early in the en-route game drive into Ngorongoro crater top destination where you can spot the Big5 if you are lucky enough.  

Proceed directly to the crater floor for your tour with a picnic lunch down the crater whereby you will be able to see all the “Big Five”.
Later, you will proceed back to Ngorongoro Serena lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight.

Day 8: Ngorongoro Crater tours

After the breakfast in the lodge you will departure with packed lunch box descend to Ngorongoro crater for another game drive within the Ngorongoro crater. After stunning wildlife viewing you will back to the Ngorongoro Serena lodge for dinner and overnight 

Day 9: Ngorongoro to Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, you will start your Tanzania safaris head towards the Serengeti National Park, via the beautiful high lying farmland of Karatu and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. 

Leaving the highlands behind. Descend into the heart of wild Africa – the Serengeti National Park – with its endless plains, rolling into the distance as far as the eye can see. 

We head to the Central Park area, known as the Seronera area, one of the richest wildlife habitats in the Park, featuring the Seronera River.  Which provides a valuable water source to this area and therefore attracts wildlife well representative of most of the Serengeti’s species. 

Arrive in time for lunch at Nabi gate and enjoy the late 2hrs afternoon game drive in the Serengeti National Park. Dinner and overnight Kati Kati Tented camp/  Kubu kubu tented lodge/ Sametu Camp

 
Day 10: Serengeti game drive
 

After breakfast, you will have a Northern Tanzania Safari game viewing at Serengeti National Park. The Serengeti, Tanzania’s largest National Park.  Covers nearly 6,000 square miles of grassland plains. 

Central Serengeti’s Seronera Valley is a year-round game-viewing. With Savannah, kopjes, hills, woodlands, and River line forest systems serve as critical water sources. 

It’s often an excellent site for wildlife viewing. Beyond the heralded migration of wildebeest and zebra, the Serengeti is best known for its big predators. Including cheetah and Leopard, as well as large pride of Lions and clans of Hyenas and many animals. Dinner and overnight Kati Kati Tented camp/  Kubu kubu tented lodge/ Sametu Camp

Day 11: Serengeti game drive

After breakfast, continues with both morning and afternoon game drives in Central Serengeti National Park during your trip Serengeti wildebeest Migration Safari.

The Serengeti National Park is famous for the ‘Great Migration’, with over one million wildebeest and two hundred thousand plus zebras each year follow the rains. 

In October and November, they travel from the mountains of the north, southwards to the plains seeking lush pastures. After the great rainy season in April, May, and June the herds then make their return ward journey.

 Even without this mass migration, the Serengeti is still an exciting and spectacular place that still cannot fail to enthrall. Dinner and overnight at  Kati Kati Tented camp/  Kubu kubu tented lodge/ Sametu Camp.

Day 12: Central Serengeti to Northern Serengeti

After having breakfast, you will enjoy morning and afternoon game drives in Serengeti National Park. You will have en route game viewing from central Serengeti to Northern.  Since Serengeti is very large, your game drives will depend on the move of the migrants. 

In October and November, they travel from the mountains of the north southwards to the plains, seeking lush pastures. After the great rainy season in April, May, and June, the herds then make their return journey. 

Even without this mass migration, Serengeti is still an exciting and spectacular place that will not fail to enthrall. You will have dinner and stay overnight at  Mara Under Canvas Tented Camp,   Mara River Camp/ Mara Mara tented camp/  Mara Mara tented lodge.

Day 13: Northern Serengeti 

After having breakfast, you will experience a game drive following the animal migration at the Northern Serengeti for a Migration Safari in Tanzania. You can see wildebeests, zebras, topi hartebeests, elands, antelopes, hyenas, and various birds singing on the trees while viewing the beautiful landscape and nature.

Usually, in July, August and the beginning of November, the migration reaches its northern range in which the herds cross the grasslands on either bank of the crocodile-infested Mara River twice, as they complete their migration. 

You will also be able to enjoy the sunset at Serengeti between 18:20 – 18:40 after the game drive before returning and staying overnight at Mara Under Canvas Tented Camp,   Mara River Camp/ Mara Mara tented camp/  Mara Mara tented lodge. 

Day 14: End of Itinerary
Fly from the Serengeti to Arusha Airport. A transfer vehicle awaits you at Arusha airport to take you for lunch. After lunch, you are transferred to Kilimanjaro Airport to connect with your international flight.

Day 2: Arusha to Tarangire National Park

We will pick you from your hotel at 8:00 am and then we drive to Tarangire National Park for game viewing. The Park runs along the line of the Tarangire River and is mainly made up of low-lying hills on the Great Rift Valley floor. Its natural vegetation mainly consists of Acacia woodland and giant African Baobab trees, with huge swamp areas in the south. 

The best base camp Safari Tanzania takes you to the best safari location and sees both the river and the swamps act like a magnet for wild animals, during Tanzania’s dry season. Tarangire National Park is reputed to contain some of the largest elephant herds in Africa. Later proceed for dinner and overnight at Karatu farm of Valley.

Day 3: Tarangire to Lake Manyara National Park

After your breakfast, and then we drive to Lake Manyara National Park for your Tanzania mid-range Safaris. This impressive National Park is one of Tanzania’s most dramatically located wildlife areas, consisting of a massive but shallow soda lake (covering two-thirds of the park) at the foot of the Great Rift Valley Western escarpment.

After breakfast, we depart from the accommodation and drive to Serengeti across Ngorongoro Conservation Area and later arrive on the great Serengeti plains for a different but just as spectacular wildlife viewing experience. 

Then you will have one of the world’s greatest adventure safari with us. You will reach at Naabi gate around 14:30 pm. Then after the game drive, you will continue your way over the scrub-lands and you will have 2 hrs late evening game drive in Serengeti National Park. overnight and dinner at Central Serengeti Kati Kati Tented Camp

Day 5: Central Serengeti Game Drive

After breakfast, you will have a game viewing towards Serengeti National Park. The Serengeti, Tanzania’s largest National Park, covers nearly 6,000 square miles of grassland plains, Savannah, kopjes, hills, woodlands, and River line forest systems serve as critical water sources and are often excellent sites for wildlife viewing. 

Beyond the heralded migration of wildebeest and zebra, the Serengeti is best known for its big predators, including cheetah and Leopard, as well as large pride of Lions and clans of Hyenas and able to see the big 5. Dinner and overnight at Central Serengeti Kati Kati Tented Camp

Day 6: Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro crater

After a relaxing morning and an early lunch, you will have early in the morning start your game drive in Serengeti later back to drive you to picnic site for branch and hot lunch, Our driver and cook will load everything on the top of our safari jeep after then continue with the game drive while looking to be our of Serengeti to proceed to Ngorongoro. 

Today, you will be doing a game viewing en-route during your way from Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro Crater. You will be in Ngorongoro Crater late in the evening where the night will be spent on the crater rim. Dinner and overnight will be at Ngorongoro Serena lodge/ Rhino lodge.

Day 7: Ngorongoro to Arusha

On our last day we start very early in the morning equipped with a picnic lunch we descend 2000 ft. down to the Crater floor by our 4×4- 4WD – wheel drive vehicle for game viewing for 5-6hrs. Let explore this Garden of Eden. Ngorongoro is a huge and deep volcanic Crater. 

There is rich pasture, swamps, forest, and permanent water on the Crater floor that is why wildlife here is so diverse and numerous. Late in the afternoon drive back to Arusha directly to the hotel we booked for your overnight. Arusha Mount Meru Hotel. 

Day 7: Transfer you to Airport (End of Safaris in Tanzania)

After breakfast in the hotel, we will transfer you to the airport to take a flight back home or to the next safari destination, you’re planning yourself. This will be the end of your tour and safari with us.

7 Days Serengeti Western corridor Wildebeest Migration, tours, holidays, and travel packages, have been designed specifically to focus on and to increase your chance to see the great Serengeti wildebeest migration.

We have designed the program to include both the Seronera area (central Serengeti National Park) and the Western corridor (western Serengeti National Park) where the majority of the wildebeest migration can normally be found from May to July pausing to gather momentum before crossing the crocodile-rich waters of the Grumeti River. The itinerary also includes Tarangire National park (Home of Elephants) a visit to the world-famous Ngorongoro Crater.

Day 1: Arrive In Tanzania.

A staff member of Foot Slopes Tours and Safaris Ltd  will pick you up from the Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO). From here you will be driven to your hotel in Arusha, which is beautifully located on the coffee farms and is a perfect place to prepare for your 7 Days Serengeti Western corridor Wildebeest Migration safari.We will gather in the hotel for a pre-safari briefing.

Day 2: Tarangire National Park.

Our 7 Days Serengeti Western corridor Wildebeest Migration tours start- we drive to Tarangire National Park, for excellent game viewing. Tarangire is a small park that offers some excellent sights. Generally, in the dry seasons, Tarangire comes alive as wildlife and birdlife congregate on the Tarangire River, which is a permanent source of water. We spend the night in our lodge beautifully set inside the park with stunning views and a unique atmosphere. In the late afternoon, we make a journey from the park to our Hotel in Karatu.

Day 3: Serengeti National Park – Central Serengeti

After breakfast we will head towards the Serengeti National Park, leaving the highlands behind, we descend into the heart of wild Africa – the Serengeti National – with its endless plains, rolling into the distance as far as the eye can see. We head to the Seronera area, one of the richest wildlife habitats in the park, featuring the Seronera River, which provides a valuable water source to this area and therefore attracts wildlife well representative of most of the Serengeti’s species. We enjoy a game drive en route to our Special Tented Camp.

Day 4: Serengeti – Werstern Corridor

After breakfast, we head towards the western reaches of the Serengeti National Park, also known as the Western Corridor. We will do a game drive en-route from the Seronera area to the Western Corridor area. The wildebeest migration can normally be found in the Western Corridor area end of April, May, and June, depending on rainfall patterns. Also, the beauty of the landscape stretching without end beneath an infinite sky o Serengeti western safari.

Day 5: Serengeti Western Corridor – Ngorongoro Area

After breakfast enjoys a half-day game drive in the Western Corridor. The key feature in the Western Corridor is the Grumeti and Mbalageti Rivers, running almost parallel to each other, each supporting a band of evergreen forests. The rivers sustain a permanent game population of zebra, wildebeest, all the predators, and birdlife. It is also possible to find large pods of hippos and huge crocodiles in the Grumeti River. The wildebeest normally gather around waterholes mid morning in such densities, that they look like ants swarming around a nest. Later afternoon drive back to Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater Tour

Early morning we drive to the final destination of this epic safari – Ngorongoro crater by driving around the crater rim. Finally, we descend the 600 high walls of the Ngorongoro Crater to the floor of the Crater for a full day of game drives. The crater walls provide a natural sanctuary for the animals, which means there is plenty to see: lions, elephants, buffalo, rhino, and leopards (if you are lucky). The only animal you won’t see here is a giraffe, whose long legs are unable to cope with the steep sides of the crater. After another memorable safari, we drive back to Arusha

Day 7: Arusha – Departure

Day 1: Arrival in Arusha

Day 1 : Airport pick-up- Arusha Gran Melia 

Our staff will pick you up from Kilimanjaro International Airport and take you to your accommodation, Arusha Gran Melia hotel found at the foot of Mount Meru and hidden amongst one of Tanzania’s largest coffee plantations.

You will stay in one of the plantation cottages with its unique architecture that dates back to the early 1900’s. The interiors permeate of coffee beans-themed design and amenities include a bar and cozy lounge as well as swimming pool and garden terrace.

In the morning, you will wake up to the aromas of the morning brew coming from the main plantation as your breakfast is being prepared. Meals:  BB included. 

Day 2 : Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, you will be picked up by your driver/ tour guide who will take you to Tarangire National Park, located in Manyara Region. Tarangire is the sixth largest national park in Tanzania after Ruaha, Serengeti, Mikumi, Katavi and Mkomazi.

Activities will include a game drive where you can see pythons climb trees, as well as lions and leopards among others. Bird lovers should keep an eye for the screeching flocks of colourful yellow-collared lovebirds, and the somewhat drabber rufous-tailed weaver and ashy starling. These are all endemic to the dry savannah of north-central Tanzania.

Day 3 : Tarangire National Park; Walking Safari

After breakfast, we will proceed to a walking safari escorted by a professional armed ranger. In the afternoon, there will be another game drive at Tarangire National park. In this park, you are to see large herds of elephants, tree climbing lions, and the fascinating baobab trees also called the Tree of Life for its almost mythical powers that some cultures attach to it.

This park is especially known for Tarangire river which flows all year round and the only source of water for wild animals during dry seasons.

Day 4 : Lake Manyara National Park

After breakfast, we will set off to Lake Manyara National Park for yet another exciting game drive. The star attraction at Lake Manyara National Park is a scenic lake that made Ernest Hemingway exclaim that this is “the loveliest I had seen in Africa”. Manyara also provides the perfect introduction to Tanzania’s birdlife.

More than 400 species have been recorded, and if your lucky, you can expect to see 100 of these in one day. Inland of the floodplain, a narrow belt of acacia woodland is the favoured haunt of Manyara’s legendary tree-climbing lions and impressively tusked elephants.

Day 5 : Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast, we will depart for a full day game drive at the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. This is an extensive highland area along the eastern arm of the Great Rift Valley, with the world-renowned Ngorongoro Crater as its focal point.

It is not a national park in the strict sense of the word, but was rather established to conserve wildlife and other natural resources. It exists to safeguard the interests of indigenous people as well as promote tourism. Thus, guests on safari have the unique experience of seeing Maasai herdsmen with their cattles among the tremendous variety of wildlife found in the area.

Day 6 : Central  Serengeti National Park Game Viewing

After breakfast, we will set off for Serengeti National Park with picnic lunch, and game drive en route via Olduvai Gorge, Tanzania’s oldest and most popular national park. A UNESCO world heritage site and recently proclaimed 7th wonder of the world, Serengeti is famed for its annual migration where some six million hooves pound the open plains.

Between July to October, witness an actual survival of the fittest as these animals plunge through crocodile-infested waters. The wildebeest produces more than 8,000 calves daily before the 1,000 km (600 mile) pilgrimage begins again.

5 Day Tanzania Safari Tour Itinerary

Embark on a mesmerizing 5-day Tanzania Safari, exploring the diverse landscapes of Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Serengeti, and the Ngorongoro Crater. Witness the majestic wildlife in Tarangire National Park, cruise along the shores of Lake Manyara, and experience the vast plains of the Serengeti teeming with iconic wildlife. Conclude your journey at the Ngorongoro Crater, a natural wonder hosting an abundance of wildlife. This meticulously curated itinerary promises an unforgettable adventure through Tanzania’s most renowned and breathtaking safari destinations.

Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park

After breakfast at the Hotel, your Tanzania safaris adventure begins, leaving early to the Tarangire National park around 8:30 am. This is the third largest park in Tanzania and it is characterized by the amazingly large herds of elephants that can be encountered in this park.

The Baobab trees are one of the other highlights of the Tarangire River that flows all year round and is the lifeblood of the park. Many animals; predators and the preys alike gather around the river where you can do excellent game viewing. Dinner & Overnight is at campsite/ Tented camp lodge.

Day 2: Tarangire to Lake Manyara National Park

After breakfast, your safari guide will collect you from your accommodation and drive you to Lake Manyara National Park. Manyara is a relatively small but diverse park, 120 kilometers west of Arusha. The park’s namesake is a shallow, salt lake. It covers a large area of the park, flooding and drying with the seasons and is home to thousands of flamingos and over 500 other bird species.

On your exploration of the park, you will see monkeys, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, buffalo, elephant and with some luck, lions lounging in the trees. The park is known for its diverse landscapes; not only open grassy plains but also primate-filled woodlands and baobab dotted cliffs. After a full day in the park, you will drive to campsite/tented lodge camp  where you will be able to relax and enjoy dinner and have an overnight.

Day 3: Lake Manyara to Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, you will start your Tanzania safaris head towards the Serengeti National Park, via the beautiful high lying farmland of Karatu and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Leaving the highlands behind, we descend into the heart of wild Africa – the Serengeti National Park – with its endless plains, rolling into the distance as far as the eye can see.

We head to the Central Park area, known as the Seronera area, one of the reach wildlife habitats in the Park, featuring the Seronera River, which provides a valuable water source to this area and therefore attracts wildlife well representative of most of the Serengeti’s species. We arrive in time for lunch at Nabi gate and enjoy the late 2hrs afternoon game drive in the Serengeti National Park. 

Serengeti Set out for the endless open plains and stunning skies of the Serengeti. A scenic road trip, with late evening game drive will wait for you. Dinner and overnight at public Campsite or tented camp. 

Day 4: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater

After a relaxing morning and an early lunch, you will have an early morning game drive in Serengeti National park for your Tanzania safaris top destination where you can spot the Big5 if you are lucky enough. Later back to the campsite for a branch and hot lunch, Our driver and cook will load everything on the top of our safari jeep after then continue with the game drive while looking to be out of Serengeti to proceed to Ngorongoro.

Today, you will be doing a game viewing en-route during your way from Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro Crater. You will be in Ngorongoro Crater late in the evening where the night will be spent on the crater rim. Dinner and overnight will be at Ngorongoro Campsite/lodge

Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater back to Arusha

Today, you will have early breakfast and proceed directly to the crater floor for a 5-6hrs crater Tanzania safaris tour with a picnic lunch down the crater whereby you will be able to see all the “Big Five”.

Day 1: Arrival in Arusha, Tanzania

Our Representative will be at the Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO). Meet and greet by your safari driver guides and transfer to Arusha for overnight at  Gran Melia Hotel

Day 2: Arusha National Park

In the morning, we will collect you at Mount Meru Game Lodge and take you to the Arusha National Park. The park has an incredible variety of fauna and flora, which cannot fail to impress. Hollywood also chose this region to film the movie “Hatari” in which Hardy Kruger starred alongside the legendary John Wayne. Your day trip will include a visit to the Ngurudoto Crater.

Buffaloes, waterbucks, giraffes, warthogs, zebras and baboons can be seen all year round as well as many different bird species. At the Momella Gate, an armed ranger will be waiting for you to accompany you on your walking safari that will give you the chance to experience the wildlife up-close.

Only a few other national parks in Tanzania give you such an opportunity and it is something that should not be missed. Lunch will be taken at a picnic place and in the afternoon, you will continue your tour in the safari vehicle through the Arusha National Park.

Day 3 & 4: Arusha – Tarangire National Park

After a leisurely breakfast your safari adventure begins. We drive to Tarangire National Park – home of the highest population of elephants, pride of lions, and over 400 species of birds. During the dry season, Tarangire is home to huge herds of buffalo and is inundated with zebra and wildebeest. There are long vistas and a baobab studded landscape that is the perfect backdrop for taking photos.

These three days will be spent unearthing the many yet to be discovered nooks and crannies of the park. Each day, we’ll find a new place in the great outdoors to have a relaxing lunch and then continue our game drive until the African sun begins to wane.

Accommodation: Tarangire Oliver’s Camp – a peaceful and rustic retreat where wildlife is only a breath away.

Day 5: Lake Manyara National Park

After an early breakfast, we drive to the beautiful and intimate Lake Manyara National Park for a full day of game viewing. The park is famous for its magnificent array of bird life and its impressively large elephant population.

Soda Lake, located on the floor of the Rift Valley and next to a strikingly dramatic escarpment, attracts the breathtakingly elegant and delicate flamingos and pelicans, as well as countless species of hornbills, kingfishers, and the eye-catchingly peculiar hamerkop.

The park is also home to olive baboon, vervet monkey, giraffe, hippo, African buffalo, impala, and pride of lions. The varied and diverse ecosystems within the park make for a unique experience. In the evening we climb the escarpment to the town of Karatu for your overnight.

Day 6: Lake Manyara – Lake Eyasi

Early morning breakfast depart for Lake Eyasi to meet up the elusive Hadzabe tribe, whom you learn more about their fascinating culture. Picnic lunch then we go for Dagota Village tour.

Day 7: Full Day Hadzabe in Lake Eyasi

Start off early with your bushman guide to meet a group of resident Hadzabe people. Enjoy the Hadzabe Tour walking into the bush with the only hunter-gatherers remaining in the East African region.

The Hadzabe speak a click-based language and move their encampments with the seasonal movements of the wildlife. Your guide is a member of the group so he will explain to you about their customs and their way of life. You will get a chance to hunt, track wildlife, make fire and even take honey from bee’s nests with the Hadzabe people. Return to the camp for lunch then afternoon proceed with the activity.

Day 8: Ngorongoro Crater Tour

Today you’ll have an all-day excursion to the World Heritage Site – Ngorongoro Crater – for game viewing on the crater floor. The crater is the home of the largest African mammals. Here is one of the few remaining places where it is possible to encounter the highly endangered black Rhinos.

It is also possible to see elephants (mostly lone or “bachelor” bulls), pride of lions, hippos, a resident herd of wildebeest, zebra, various gazelles, and buffalo. We will have lunch at the water’s edge, and then we’ll ascend back to the crater rim seeing more game along the way. Our day ends with a soothing shower, dinner, and relaxing.

Day 9: Olduvai Gorge to Serengeti National Park

We make our way to the Central Serengeti Plains with a stop for a culturally-enriching tour of the museum at Olduvai Gorge.

The gorge is the site of years of tireless research into the anthropology of early man by the famous Leakey family and prominent universities.

The museum is situated on the site of archaeological digs taking place throughout this, and the last, century. The site was made famous by the Leakey’s and some of the amazing hominid finds such as Australopithecus bosei or “Nutcracker Man” (because of his very large teeth and jaws) and Homo habilis (a hominid named for his handy abilities with tools found around the site).

We then trek onwards to the Serengeti National Park, game driving and stopping for a picnic along the way. We arrive at our camp in the Seronera area in time for a shower before dinner.

Accommodation: Kubu Kubu Tented Luxury Camp– a quaint haven nestled in the Serengeti known for its simple elegance and warm hospitality.

Day 10 – 13: Full days to see the migration crossing Mara River

These days are devoted to full game drives with many opportunities to get that “perfect shot” with your camera. The Serengeti is one of the most stunning wildlife sanctuaries in the world.

The name comes from the Maasai word “siri nget” meaning “endless plains”. The wildebeest migration continues moving northwards during July and August, often spreading out across a broad front: some heading through Grumeti Reserve and Ikorongo, others north through the heart of the Serengeti National Park.

Day 14: We have come to the end of our safari

We depart this morning after breakfast from the Lodge to the Kogatende Airstrip where you’ll say goodbye to your guides and board the Domestic flight to Arusha Airport, arriving in time for lunch. (Lunch at Gran Melia Hotel Arusha, a dayroom is held to allow you to relax and check out later in the day. A vehicle is on hand to transfer you to the Kilimanjaro International airport to connect with your International flight back home.
