DAY 1: ARUSHA TO MANDARA HUT
At the first day you have to drive about 2 hrs. through Kilimanjaro in the morning the semi-tropical foothills to Marangu area which situated on the south-eastern side of the mountain. As you drive, there is usually some admirable view of the snow-capped peak of the mountain. On arrival at Marangu gate, you meet your team of guides and porters, pick up any last minute supplies for the trek, and head to the entrance of Mount Kilimanjaro National Park to register for the climb. From the cluster of buildings at the gate it is some four to five hours walk through patches of coffee plantation and dense rainforest to Mandara Hut. The forest teems with brightly-coloured bird life, colobus and other varieties of monkey. The flora includes numerous mosses, lichens and flowers, as well as delicate orchids. If the skies are clear you may have fine views over the town of Moshi lying at the boundary of the plain far underneath. Mandara Hut is a collection of basic, A-frame mountain huts with bunk beds quite adequate for your needs where you inevitably meet up with fellow trekkers who are bent on the same goal. DAY2: HOROMBO HUT
The second day on the mountain beginning with a steep climb all the way through the last envelop of rainforest, while this soon gives way to rolling alpine pasture scattered with giant heather. Once upon a time you depart the forest covering, Kilimanjaro twin peaks snow covered Kibo and rocky Mawenzi which lie straight in front, dominating the skyline. In additional when you cross a zone of open heath with stunted vegetation, before emerging onto bleak moorland. Today you gain roughly 1,000m in altitude, and your walk can take anything from five to seven hours depending on your pace. Tonight you stay at Horombo Huts another collection of buildings similar in style to those at Mandara which offer shelter and basic accommodation to those on the mountain. DAY 3:HOROMBO HUT-BACK TO MARANGU GATE
At that day provides you an opportunity to get to know yourself more and more to the altitude. Statistics show that an adaptation day like this effectively doubles the chance of making it to the summit, so this time is well spent! The day is not exactly wasted as there are a few walks you can make in the surrounding area of the hut the most popular of which is to the base of Mawenzi Peak, the spectacular eastern summit of Kili and it takes four to five hours in our tour, and will get you to reach altitude of 4,600m earlier than you return to the hut this will stand you in good stead later on.Then back direct to Marangu gate back Arusha
Day 4: Arusha to Tarangire National Park
After having breakfast at the lodge, you will leave early to Tarangire National park. It is the third largest park in Tanzania and characterized by the amazingly large herds of elephants that can be encountered. The Baobab trees are one of the other highlights of it.
Tarangire River that flows all year round is the lifeblood of the park. Many animals, predators and their preys, gather around the river and you can do excellent game viewings.You will stay overnight at Panorama campsite.
Day 5: Tarangire to Serengeti National Park
The breakfast will be at 06:00. You will be picked up from the camp at 07:00 while bringing packed picnic lunch and drive to Serengeti National Park. You will enjoy game drives en route via Ngorongoro Crater rim. You will have 4hrs late afternoon game drive
Serengeti National Park is one of the most famous national parks on earth, renowned for its magnificent lions and great migration. It is the home of lions, leopards, elephants, cheetahs, buffalos, zebras, wildebeest, elands, wild dogs, gazelles, crocodiles, and more. You will stay overnight at Seronera Campsite.
Day 6: Central Serengeti
After having breakfast, you will enjoy morning and afternoon game drives in Serengeti National Park. Since Serengeti is very large, your game drives will depend on the move of the migrants. Your guide knows very well on how to locate the herds. Serengeti National Park is famous for the ‘Great Migration’ of more than one million wildebeest and two hundred thousand zebras each year.
In October and November, they travel from the mountains of the north southwards to the plains, seeking lush pastures. After the great rainy season in April, May, and June, the herds then make their return journey. Even without this mass migration, Serengeti is still an exciting and spectacular place that will not fail to enthrall. You will have dinner and stay overnight at Seronera Campsite.
Day 7: Northern Serengeti
After having breakfast, you will experience a game drive following the animal migration at the Northern Serengeti. You can see wildebeests, zebras, topi hartebeests, elands, antelopes, hyenas, and various birds singing on the trees while viewing the beautiful landscape and nature.
Usually, in July , August and beginning of November, the migration reaches its northern range in which the herds cross the grasslands on either bank of the crocodile-infested Mara River twice, as they complete their migration. You will also be able to enjoy the sunset at Serengeti between 18:20 – 18:40 after the game drive before returning and staying overnight at Lobo Campsite.
Day 8: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater
After having breakfast, you will experience a game viewing in Serengeti for three hours. Then, you will proceed with a game en-route and arrive at Nabi gate to have lunch. You will then proceed to Ngorongoro Conservation Area to have dinner and stay overnight at Simba Campsite,
Day 9: Ngorongoro Crater
On this day, you will start early at 07:00 for a game drive (with a picnic lunch) in the Ngorongoro Crater. As animals migrate in and out of the crater with its 2000 feet high walls, you can expect to see lions, elephants, zebras, hippos, flamingos, jackals, rhinos, antelopes, many birds, and other species. crater tour take 5-6hrs
Your driver / guide will be in contact with other safari drivers and will amaze you with his skill at locating the hidden animals. After all the great explorations in Ngorongoro Crater, you will go campsite for Dinner and Overnight nainokanoka campsite
Day 10: Olmoti Crater to Lake Manyara
After breakfast your driver guide will drive you to Nainokanoka Maasai village and meet your Masai guide on the slopes of Olmoti Crater. The hike proceeds to Empakaii Crater (4-6 hrs), At Empakaii, you will have time to explore the rim of the Crater later back to the down the Crater near Masai Community. (Dinner and overnight at campsite near lake Manyara)
Day 11: Lake Manyara to Arusha
After having breakfast, you will continue the journey you will visit Lake Manyara National Park. The protected area encloses a large part of the alkaline lake of the same name. This amazing lake is the seasonal home of a giant flamingo colony and many more waterfowls. On the lakeshore, you can also observe elephants, hippopotami, buffalos, guenons, banded mongooses, and numerous types of gazelles and antelopes.
Furthermore, the park is well known for its “tree climbing lions”. Visitors can regularly observe lions taking a nap in the tree canopies or escaping from the heat on the ground. After watching the animals and exploring the national park, you will leave the park in the afternoon and travel to the Kirurumu Manyara Lodge. You will enjoy a wonderful view of the Maasai Plains and the Lake Manyara. Photo stops will be taken and you will be able to enjoy the spectacular views.
